Basic Guide How to Create a Website

Nowadays, there’re many Content Management Systems (CMS) out there that you can get for free. With CMS, you can create a website easily without knowing web design or web programming skills. You just need to drag-drop, copy-paste, click, and type. Then your website is ready.
But almost all CMS only have the standard features to create a website, to customize your website – to become more professional and nice looking – you need to own web design and or web programming skills, or you can hire people to build and customize your site. If you can’t afford to hire web programmer or web designer, create your own website by yourself is the best choice. I’ve done this, all of my sites and blogs have been customized to fit my website or blog needs. I’m not satisfied with the standard features of CMS that I use.
The basic skill of website creation is HTML and CSS knowledge. Additionally, the basic web programming like PHP, ASP, etc also needed. But this is just optional, since there’re quite many web programmer and developer develop modules or plugins to customize and fit any website or blog needs.
Software for creating and designing websites
Any text editor software (like Notepad, etc) can be used to create a website page. But Notepad does not meet standard requirements to create a web page, since there’s inspection tool feature. To create a professional website, I recommend you using softwares that are designed for web design and web creation purpose, such as:
- Macromedia Dreamweaver – Software empowers designers and developers to build standards-based websites with confidence. Design visually or directly in code, develop pages with content management systems, and accurately test browser compatibility.
- Notepad ++ – Source code editor and Notepad replacement that supports several languages.
- 1st Page 2000 – the tool that lets you create powerful, great looking websites faster, easier and on-time.

With these softwares you can create a website quickly, you can also learn while you create a web page with the inspection tools that have been integrated.
